Can you upgrade windows mobile 5.0 to the newest Windows mobile?

I have a treo 700w and was wondering if i could upgrade my windows mobile 5.0 to the newest that is out? also wanting to know if there are any websites to get free apps and today screens and so forth. thanks a lot!

There  is one official rom update available for it but it is still wm5

You could probably find a hacked custom rom of course at the same time you risk damaging it so it will not work at all.
