Can you use E85 gas in your boat or lawn mower safely?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  The parts in the fuel system on 99% of small engines can not run E85.  The alcohol will ruin the plastic and rubber in the fuel system.  Briggs & Stratton, Kohler and Tecumseh all have said to not use E85.

E85 is 85% Ethanol and only 15% Gasoline . Cars that can run on E85 are called flex fuel vehicles and are set up to run a lower power producing fuel. More than likely you will need a tune-up to change the timming and a cooler rated spark plug and can expect less power but it can be done.
