  1. Appliances have to be able to sustain the regular voltage fluctuations on the power line. These fluctuations can be quite large. 10 Volts more or less should not be a problem for any appliance. Most devices with voltage regulators have an input voltage range of 100-230 Volts. But please check the label on the appliance first!


  2. Yes.  A standard home outlet is acutally closer to 117 volts.  People say 110, but that's just a generalization.  Most appliances will work fine from about 105 volts to about 130 volts.
