I'm not trying to scam the company or anything, just want to know if it's possible to send analog signal my cable provides through the wall into a DirecTV Receiver device and have it come out the HDMI output? I know some of the points of the receiver would be lost, like having the channel guide and stuff, and I understand that - I just want to know if this is possible.

  1. will not work at all

  2. Yes, as long as it's not a Analog T.V. without a DTV decoder.

  3. No, Sat tv works on completely different frequencies and uses different modulation techniques, not compatible.

Your best bet is to feed the analog cable straight into your TV and avoid any other conversions.
