Can you use a Usb car charger on the PSP?

basically my dad has a usb car charger for his sat-nav and it has the same type of end that would fit in my psp, just wonderd if it would work caus i cba to splash out on one that is used on the actuall port. and i dont wana blow it up or anything if i do try it.

well if you don't want it to break don't try it.

If it's the old "Fat" type of PSP then it can't charge via USB so it'll do nothing, if it's the new "Slim" PSP then it should be able to charge fine off it.
