Can you use a Y Rca cord to connect a subwoofer to an AMP with only a single RCA Subwoofer INput?

So to futher explain, my powered sub woofer has an RCA white/red output, and my amp has a single Subwoofer RCA input.

  1. Your receivers sub OUTPUT is mono so only needs 1 cable. If the subwoofer is newer (less than 6 years or so) it probably only needs 1 cable to feed it. The white INPUT on the sub should be the mono input so just connect it there.


  2. Yes you could do that, or better yet, just sacrifice a cable with RCA connectors at both ends.  You'll use just the red or just the white.  Cut off the connector on one end and there should be two wires inside.  Strip the shielding and connect the two wires to your sub.
