Is it possible to use a sling/pouch during winter underneath your coat? Would the baby be ok? i have 2 dogs and a baby due in December and would like to get out and about with the dogs during the crappy weather and think that this would be easier than a huge pushchair as we live in the countryside. Any help appreciated...thanks. x

  1. I did with both my sons.  I'd put on my sling before I put my coat on, and we'd both stay warm and cozy.

When you do it that way, you don't have to bundle the baby up so much, because they stay warm from your body heat.

  2. I always use a papoose with my first baby, as we always on the buses etc, instead of using buggies, and even walking to town to be honest, I also have with my second, whilst using the buggy with my eldest, and will do with my third lol (who is due in November!!!!!!) i find a papoose great, i think the warmth from you is better then a blanket anyway, as long they are wrapped up in one of those all in one body suits, its great, and so cosy too :-)

Good luck with your baby x x x

  3. Oh goodness yes, yes, yes!! My carrier was a godsend in the winter! I put in on over my clothes, then put my coat over the top, my daughter was so snugly warm, and kept me warm too!

I honestly don't know how I would have walked the dogs without it! lol

I use a Snugbaby Mei-Tai which I have found to be the most comfortable of all the ones Ive tried http://www.fill-your-pants.com/product/6...

  4. You could wear it over your coat, but i usually wear them under, without doing the coat up. Your body heat is enough to keep you and baby warm, without the coat done up.

  5. Not only can you, but I think it is by far the easiest way to get out and about in the Winter. You don't need to push a stroller through a snow bank or slush and baby is nice and warm all snuggled in next to you. If your coat is big enough you can zip baby right in.

  6. You sure can!  Just be careful to not over-layer the baby.  You don't want the baby to get too warm as they get your body heat too.  I wore my daughter all the time in the winter.

  7. As long as you keep the baby warm and make sure it is getting plenty of air you should be fine..

  8. If you put the baby a snow jumper on I think it would be okay I've seen people do it before.
