Can you use a car on a UK test with tinted windows?

It's only the rear and passanger side windows

  1. yeah  but  you cant tint the winderscreen because its against the law.


  2. Yes if its legally tinted - garages don't always follow the rules when they fit tints.  You have to have the light transmission checked....

  3. Short answer is yes as long as the windows are legal and let in the required amount of light; but it really depends on the examiners rearward visibility---------some cars are not 'testworthy' due to lack of visibility.

    My training car is a fiesta zetec s and has rear side tints and outside edges of rear window tinted ( but this doesnt detract from the rear vision from inside.

    Best bet is to go to the test centre where you decide to take the test and ask the senior examiner
