  1. Well....sure....why not? I have, on occasion, when the circumstances dictated.

  2. Yes of course. But don't just pick one, its no  harm to have an arsenal of shot types with you.

  3. you can use a 3 iron as a sand wedge as long as you know what you are doing....

  4. Any club can be used as a sand wedge but the original sand wedge introduced by Gene Sarazen had a thicker sole than any other club with a similiar loft. It flowed through the sand rather than cut through as would the present pitching wedge or lob wedge.

  5. Yes, but keep in mind a sand wedge is designed for the sand and a lob wedge isn't.  If you want your lob wedge to perform out of the sand like your SW you will have to open the clubface which will increased the bounce of the club.  unfortunatly, opening the clubface of your LW also gives you more loft  = loss of distance.  practice with it but be sure to open your club face. good luck.

  6. Hi, yes you can. The relative difference between a sand and lob wedge is about 4 degrees loft. So for tricky shots around the green you can close the face of your lob wedge by ensuring your hands are infront of the club face. Ideally you should always play the correct club this will ensure you will get consistent.

  7. not the easiest club to use . with practice . soon will become your favorite . great club to practice with .

  8. Yes. In fact depending on how well you hit your sand shots it works really well if you dont have a lot of green in between the bunker and the hole. If you close it up a little bit it will give you the same shot.

  9. yes if you want to

  10. yes but its still a lob wedge.i dont know, can you?

  11. Yes, I use my 60 degree for short sand shots.  You must have some bounce on the sole to pull it off.

  12. i prefer a driver out of the sand

  13. Yes, you can.  The lob would be by club of choice for anything inside 50-yards..... pitching, chipping and belly wedging around the green.

It's all a matter of being comfortable with the club.

  14. Sure.  I've heard some people refer to it as a 60* sand wedge.
