Hello! I have a GE Roaster Oven. I love it....but I have a question. Do you think I could fill it 1/2 (or 3/4) way with oil and use it to make funnel cakes in? My daughter's b-day party is coming up and it is a carnival theme...and I just thought it would be awesome if I could use that and offer funnel cakes to the guest. Please let me know what you think? Thanks so much!

  1. I would say since the roaster is not made with the intention of frying the simple answer is no.  I'm not sure you could get the oil hot enough anyway.  Why not simply invest $50-$60 dollars for a large counter size roaster, you should be able to do 2-3 funnels at a time and you'll be using a product the way it is intended to be used.

  2. Depending on your location, you might be able to rent a deep-fryer for less money than buying one. For safety, consider using it outdoors and have a fire extinguisher nearby.
