Can you use an electric blanket with a memory foam matress topper?

I've done some research on this question and there are many sources that say you should never use an electric blanket with a memory foam mattress topper and there are other sources that say it's not an issue at all. If you think about it, those electric blankets get very hot over time and one coil issue can maybe start a fire. If I were you, I'd only use the electric blanket until you are warm and then turn it off.


  2. Yes you can but don't turn it on high and leave it just common sense. You are getting an ear ache from what? The electric blanket would not cause it and neither would the mattress
