hey, i have Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint, but I wasn't sure if it will stay on fabrics. It says use on any porous surface but I don't know what that means.

Does anyone either know a website to find out, or have an answer.

~thanks

  1. It works just fine, you just may need to use one or two coats to get a 'strong' lasting colour, depending on what colour paint you use, and it will make the fabric stiff.

  3. Yes  , you can use it on Fabric . It will not last as long as fabric paint  ;(((

  4. porous means it is able to absorb fluid.....the paint is not pliable which means when you launder the fabric after painting it ....it will crack and peel...

The paint will absorb more into the fabric and may bleed out causing a distorted image if you are trying to do a detailed paint image...put a protective layer under the fabric to avoid messes...

  5. Apple Barrel is a craft acrylic paint. If you mix a product called 'textile medium' (available inexpensively in paint section) with the craft paint, it's fine to use on fabric. You'll need to heat-set it, though - follow the instructions on the textile medium. Also, wash and dry the fabric first without using fabric softener or dryer sheets - the paint clings better.

    Good luck, and happy painting!
