Can you use blueray discs on regular tvs?

Or do you need a high definition tv to get the full use out of a blueray? Because we cant afford a tv but we can afford a ps3 and i was wondering if the blueray feature is worth it with our crappy tvs.

Yes you can hook up a PS3 to a standard television and watch bluray movies. you would get the best experience with an HD tv but itll do

It is best to have a high definition tv for the full effect because a lot of the dpi is lost when it is running through a regular tv. It will still look better than a dvd though.

Blue-ray discs will play on your TV, but don't expect the quality to be any better than your standard DVDs.
