  1. no bad idea...it could damage your base...its not ment for snowboards...it will slow you down... and it wont fill in the ridges on the base..DONT DO IT!

  2. You 'could' but it wouldn't work very well. Ski/snowboard wax is basically candle wax, but it has special additives that prevent it from rubbing off or sticking. I would advise you not to use candle wax. I get my wax discounted at Sniagrab at my Sports Authority

  3. I use the candle wax/canning parafin for all of my equipment. It is the base material used in most wax compounds. The exception are the new fluorocarbons.  Canning wax is cheaper and it seems to do the job of making the bases slide on the snow.  Do multiple wax jobs through the season, try to get the bases saturated with wax.  When some one tells me not to use this type of wax, I always ask if they have a vested interest in selling the expensive ski wax?  Canning wax does wear off faster, but it can be blended with ski wax for adherence to the base.  Also temperature range should be considered and purpose. This applies to recreational use, not competition, also fresh cold snow needs a different wax than canning wax.

  4. Nope. there are specific ingredients on snowboard wax that make it work for a snowboard. DONT use surf wax either.

  5. No, because ski and snowboard wax has special additives that prevent ice from sticking and make the board slide faster (that is why there are different "temperatures" of ski wax). Candle wax would scrape right off - it is too soft and the snow would stick to it.

    Good Luck

  6. You can only use candlewax if you mix it with earwax.  You just have to spread it out with a warm iron and buff it with a brush or pad.

  7. try it, tell me what happens. :P
