I've seen recipes for chocolate cake that use cherry pie filling. I'm making a chocolate torte and have this homemade cherry pie filling that's so good I think it would go well in the torte - however I don't want to ruin a good torte! Can this be done?

  1. Absolutely.   Remember when Tupperware had some special pan, that you used one box of cake mix and one can of canned fruit, nothing else!  This was cooked in that pan in the microwave?   Turns out great.

  2. Spread the cherry filling between the layers instead.  It's too heavy for a torte mixture.

  3. I don't understand why not

But I would fold the cherries in at the end and reduce the liquid
