Can you use different Pokemon series card in the same deck?

My son wants me to play Plkemon. I will learn in time which is no problem. But there is so many different kind like Diamond and pearl so on and so forth. Can you mix and match or not?

Yes of course. There are many sets of d/p and you can use cards from different sets to make a deck. I think that even the starter decks use cards from different sets.

And a piece of advice, try checking out www.pokebeach.com for card scans, then identify which ones you like. Personally, we found it cheaper to buy single cards than push our luck on booster packs
