Can you use duct tape to fix bicycle inner tube?

i don't want to go all the way to the bike shop to buy a patch. do you think using some duct tape will work fine too?

  1. Yes--with qualifications. Some charmer left a nail pointy-end up in the road and I ran over it. After I removed the nail, the tire patched up quite nicely from the inside, but I couldn't get the patch to fully hold on the tube. After the 3rd attempt at a patch still had a very slight leak, I got disgusted and wrapped some duct tape around the patch. IT HOLDS. I ride 12 miles every day on some rough terrain and that tube has stayed rock hard.


     


  2. Yes it's possible i patched my bicycle tube and it still holds.It's the 3'rd week and i know why.The air pressure pressed the duct tape against the tyre.
