  1. Flour is harina, it's called masa after you add the liquid to it and make it into masa which in English is dough. Corn masa is called maiz, like when you are at a Mexican restaurant and your meal comes with tortillas and they ask you do you want tortillas de maiz or harina, do you want corn or flour tortillas.


  2. masa harina is made from corn while flour is made from wheat.  You would get totally different results in terms of taste and texture.

  4. yeah, what everyone said, but it you want to use regular flour, put a little baking powder, crisco, and salt- that's what masa harina is (but in a powder form)

  5. If you are making tortillas,  is that what you mean?  Yes ....just ordinary a.p. flour ... they call them Flour Tortillas !!
