Can you use food stamps from CA to buy food in other states?

Just wondering if the system is as screwed up as I think it is!!!

yeah..they have a racket that allows the use of a "debit card"...people in my state maintain residences in Chicago with relatives...they get on a train the 1st of every month,ride to Chi town,collect all welfare allowed then return the next day and collect here too..states cannot compare rolls due to privacy laws and they get away with it for years

Yes, and its not as screwed up as you think. Your worker and the fraud department can detect using them in other states but its not against the law unless it becomes an extended amount of time. A lot of food stamp recepients work and can afford short visits to family, funerals, etc. The money is federal money even though each state is allowcated their share.

did you get your "food stamps" from a Federal Program

or  one that is local to California?

if  its Federal "food stamps" then you should  be able  to  use them in any state.
