Question:

Can you use hair conditioner for laundy?

Hey guys :)

I noticed that simple rinse with any hair conditioner does wonders to my linen clothes compared to any fabric softener.

It's just that I'm scared it's gonna make a bubble party :) Or is it safe to add hair conditioner to softener compartment?

  1. mix the conditioner with water first.

I stopped using any softener on my summer linens.  It seemed to make the thin material rip and tear easier.

  2. Hair conditioner doesn't usually have any lathering agents added. I don't think you'll have any problems with too many bubbles if you add it to your softener compartment. I'd be more worried about it not flowing through propertly, because I don't think hair conditioner "pours" smoothly like fabric softener does, does it? I would use one of those Downy balls that you toss in with the load, rather than risk gooping up the machine.

  3. What???? No...well, maybe it depends on if you want your clothes to be hard at the end of the drying cycle!

  4. You can do an experiment if you like, but its really pushing it! Like you said it might end up just that, a bubble party. Try to put only 1/2 or 1/4 way up of the conditioner. That way if it turns out being a no no then your not going to have so much clean up! Best of luck.
