  1. On the back of one of my son's instruction manuels he just got shows a website for playing online.

    www.go-pokemon.com

We haven't checked it out much yet but I do know that if you are under 13 you have to print off a permission form for your parents to sign and mail or fax in giving you permission to play on their site.

  2. There are no 'official' Pokemon online games that make use of the actual cards you own, but there are a couple of programs that allow you to play interactively with another player.  The first is "Apprentice", which was originally written for playing Magic: The Gathering online, but has been patched to support Pokemon.  I have used Apprentice, and it can be a little bit of a challenge if you are unfamiliar with computers and basic networking concepts.  There is also "Redshark", which I have not used, but which I understand to have been written specifically for Pokemon.

Links to both of these programs and their instructions are at http://www.pokebeach.com.

    Good luck!
