  1. Depends upon your definition of 'regular', but for so long as its an oil based paint and able to be thinned then I don't see why not. Thinning is very very important for enabling the spray gun to apply your paint. You absolutely must use the correct thinners for the paint you are employing though. It'll tell you what type on the tin (or should).

    For what it is worth, OWATROL OIL (I think that is spelt right) is brilliant. It can be used as a thinner for paints to be delivered via a gun, but it can also allow the user to hand paint their boat and provide a spray - gun finish or look.

  2. i have done this before with spray paint but some times it dosent last long.it likes to flake off.it would probably be best to completley powerwash the area being painted.im sure wallmart has something you can use for 3 or 4 dollars a can.
