Can you use the Eurail pass for overnight trains?

I am trying to plan a trip with 2 buddies and we would like to know if a 3 country eurail pass would include overnight trains, lets say from Munich to Venice.

Yes you can.

But check if you need a reservation or if the train has only sleeper-cars - you will have to pay extra for these.

Yes, but be sure to buy your Eurail pass in the USA, or there will be a surcharge if you buy in UK!    Not all countries run their trains at night!   Check with a travel agent!   No cost to you!
