Do you think you could use the Peticure nail filer/trimmer on a rabbit's nails? I'm pretty sure you could and it seems a lot safer and easier, but the commercial didn't really mention any other animals except dogs and cats.... Both me and my mom think it's a great product and we're thinking about getting it when we get pet rabbits. So is the Peticure safe for a bunny?

  1. It's not difficult to trim a rabbit's nails. All you have to do is lay them on your lap lengthwise on its back to "trance" them. I do that to trim my rabbits' nails regularly. What you do is lay the rabbit on your lap, slightly between your knees on its back, rub its face rhythmically until it goes tranquil, then clip the nails. Just like that! They stay catatonic for quite a few minutes like that.

Actually, I'd like to get that "Peticure" device, as well. I should think it would be quite useful to trim rabbits' nails.

  2. I actually had wondered the same thing for my rabbit when I first saw that commercial. I doubt you could get a rabbit to hold still long enough for me to trim his nails with a clipper (I have to get my sister to hold him still).

  3. ha, i saw that commercial.

i don't have one, but i'm sure you could. but good luck keeping the bunny still...

check with a vet though, if you want to go the extra mile.
