  1. extract audio from video.

  2. Well if you want the sound of a video clip, you need to have a video converter to convert a video into mp3 or whatever you want, then add it.

  3. You can record the audio with the sound recorder that came with your computer. Just go to Start, Accessories and Entertainment and find the sound recorder.

Go to Edit, then Audio Properties. Under "Sound Recording" there should be a volume button. Click it and go to options, making sure the Advanced Options box is checked, and select Stereo Mix.

After all that, play the clip you want the audio from and press record on the sound recorder. It'll record the audio and save it as a .wav file that you can import to Windows Movie Maker later. Once it's done recording, press stop and Save As, name it something so you can find easily later and import it. No file conversions necessary.

    Good luck.

  4. Download this free software which will capture any sound coming through your speakers.  It's really cool.
