Can you use the word 'schism' in a sentence? I cannot think of anything! I know the definition, but no good sentences have come to mind. Thanks!!

  1. Well, this word is kinda limited in context.  In my personal ideolect, the standard meaning is related to formal religious groups. So you might say, "The Anglicans who have ordained female priests might have committed an act that's tantamount to schism."  Catholics "excommunicate" people for various reasons, some of which might include schismatic doctrine.
