Can you use traveler's checks at clubs in mexico/cancun?

i wanted to bring about 500 bucks down to cancun next week. im gonna bring most in traveler's checks, but if i cant use them at clubs/bars, im not going to bring as much

Not really anyone takes travelers checks down there.  You want to bring lots of $1 because not many people down there have american change.  That was the mistake I made.

you can if it's one of the major clubs/bars in the resort areas.  If it's a little local establishment, chances are, they will not take travelers checks.
