Can you use windows live messenger on a mac using the isight webcam?

I will be buying a black macbook soon and i use Windows live messenger for my IM. I would like to use the webcam but will it work with WLM?

Yes, as long as you install the webcam properly with all of the drivers in place.  You need to make surethe webcam driver/s (software) work with your macbook.

The webcam is built in, so no need to install anything, however webcams are not compatible with MSN messenger for Mac directly.  There is no Windows Live messenger program for a mac.  I have heard that Mercury Messenger can be used to do this, but have never tested it.

Your camera comes already installed and set up properly.

The problem is that the version of Live Messenger for Mac doesn't have the webcam feature.

There are alternatives.  The first MSN alternative that does have the webcam feature is aMSN:

Neither of them are as polished as Live Messenger for windows, but they do the job and are free.  Yahoo messenger and Skype also support video chat if you can use another network.  Hope this helps.
