Can you use wireless network adapters with a different company router?

I have a linksys router set up. So if i got a netgear usb adapter for my computer, would it work?

  1. Yes, it will, sometimes seamlessly, sometimes a pain in the neck. Email me if have any questions :)


  2. WIFI devices are standardized.  You can absolutely do this.  Just make sure you enable security on your wireless.  YouTube has tutorials on how to do this.  Just do searches for things like secure wireless or linksys wireless, etc.

  3. Yea, as long as ur router  provide wireless connection and u have a wireless hub it will work. It is just that the connection might not be as good or you will have troble sumtimes with the internet security

  4. That should work fine. Wireless connections are standardized, so nearly any wireless adapter should beable to connect to a signal, provided that they are both 802.11b/g/n (they should be).

  5. Yes, almost all of the brands can be used in a standard mode and will interoperate.

    Some brands have proprietary "speed boost" technology that will not be available, but the normal connection modes will always be supported.
