Can you usually hail a cab after getting off at an Amtrak station?

I need to know for a trip I'm planning.

Depends on the station.  

At big stations, like Union Station in LA or Grand Central in NYC, you definitely can.  At smaller stations, probably not.

I guess you could stand outside the station & Yell "Hail!" when you see a cab. Usually you should use the telephone inside the lobby to get one. In the larger cities cabs often are just milling around the station. In the small towns that have cabs you usually have to call.

In most CITIES, there may be a taxi stand outside the station........

In suburban or rural areas, you would need to call a taxi to pick you up.
