Can you volunteer to be in ensemble and do backstage work for Broadway musicals and shows?

To work on Broadway shows I am pretty sure you have to be union. They stage crew workers went a strike for a few weeks I think about the time the writers went on strike.

My bro does stagework and I have not heard of any volunteer stagehands.

You have to be in a union and they get paid alot of money to do nothing on stage

Everything dealing with Broadway is a dog eat dog world. It's all about being in the right place at the right time, and all about who you know. Actors, actresses, crews, ect... all are very very difficult to score. If you decide to go for that dream, make sure your resume makes you look like a diamond in the rough. GOOD LUCK... you will need it, but know that nothing in life you want or desire is impossible... so go for it if you truely want to fight the battle!
