Can you vote for Obama?

Question

Can you give me a good moral, ethical reason to cast a vote for Obama? He doesn't have any track record to speak of. What little voting record he has, absolutely always favors tax increases. His entire personal history is filled with personal relationships with some of the most vile and hateful people in the country. Why would anyone who loves our great country cast a vote for the one man in the senate trying his most earnest to undermine every value our country was made great by?

I really want to know.

When you say good moral do you mean stuff your first marriage ending in a divorce because you where cheating ( how's McCains first marriage ended ) or raising your 17 year old daughter to have kids out of wedlock ( what palin is going through ).  And your tax increase that you said obama's doing?  Have you even watch any of obama's speaches or DNC What tax increases you talking about?  Unless your referring to the ones he's imposing on the rich.  I'm voting for Obama because he's a down to earth family man who hasn't been corrupted by washington, and wasn't raised with a silver spoon in his mouth.  Or you just don't want to vote for him case he's black.  Maybe you need to ask yourself that.

Yep!  I am voting for Obama.  Come on, how much worse can he be than the one we have in the White House now.  I am really just voting aganist McCain.  We cannot have 4 more years of rising gas prices and a slumping economy, which is what we will get if McCain is elected. We need change!

  Obama wants to give the nation back to the people unlike Mccain who wants to give the tax breaks to the corporations.  Just look at who supports McCain its the same people who supported Bush and look how they have taxed the middle class instead of the corporations.  McCains oil plan is a joke he wants to drill for more oil but without forcing the oil companies to keep the oil in America to benefit Americans.  Even if they drill it will be shipped over seas.  The health care is broken but McCain has no plan to fix it.  Obama plan would give the poor health care and give us middle class who already pay for it a tax break.  HMOs don't like it because they profit off the uninsured by charging us a tax which they pocket.

I think you have "looked up" the facts, as you know about some of his voting history and relationships with less than admirable people.  I personally agree with you, and certainly will not cast a vote in his favor, but I think you're going to get some pretty vehement and possibly disrespectful responses to your question, so prepare yourself.  I do, however, appreciate your actual question, and am looking forward to someone actually answering it.  :)

Yes I can and will.  It sounds like you've already made up your mind, but I would suggest you check out all of the candidates at:  http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/ or http://www.snopes.com/politics/politics....

You might find some information that makes you think as opposed to making your knee jerk.

You may still vote for McCain or a 3rd party candidate, but if you're gonna vote, at least vote informed.

If I listened to people like you, I probably wouldn't, but when I look at the facts he is by far the best candidate. Why would anyone who loves our great country cast a vote for him? Because conservative policies have brought us:

Record Mortgage foreclosures

Record bank failures

High unemployment

Declining wages

Disappearing benefits

Unprecedented redistribution of wealth from the middle class the the wealthiest among us

Declining prestige in the world

A seriously weakened dollar

A record national debt

A declining industrial base

What in that list appeals to? As Obama says, "I think we can do better."
