i know this sounds stupid, but i'm sure i remember reading some where ages ago that they have found scratches made by the deceased fingernails on the lid of the coffin like they have woken briefly for a few minutes,

it could just be that i am remembering something else, but still its nice to know.

  1. Key words: "Ages ago." Back then, they didn't do the same embalming methods as we have today. Sometimes they would just simply put a body in the coffin, and that's it. There were cases back then where the person was actually not dead, and they found scratches made by fingernails. With the technology we have now, there is no way someone would wake up. It's impossible, if they don't have any of their insides left.

  2. No, that was before modern technology could detect very slight vital signs.   Those people were just buried alive accidentally.  People who may be in a coma, or sometimes their vital signs (heartbeat, etc) were so slight that the doctor didn't notice and pronounced them dead.  That's why some people requested that when they died to have a string tied around their hand attached to a bell above ground, that way if they weren't really dead they could ring the bell and be dug up.  I don't know if that ever happened, if someone with a bell was actually ever really alive and then saved.

  3. No

  4. ive never heard this, but idk.

  5. probably not, no one has ever been able to demonstrate that they did.  scratches in the coffin were probably made by someone who was buried alive
