My shower curtain liner has mildew and mold growing on it, i didnt know if i could put it in the washer to wash it. i would bleach it but, its a dark navy blue and dont want it to fade. i just want to get the mildew off, it looks horrible. its not made out of that vinyl material.. its more cloth than anything. i think they call it a curtain/liner instead of just a liner... any help would be appreciated. i really dont want to ruin the liner. thank you!!

  1. You can put it in the washer with a little bleach with some towels or a sheet. Usually liners are made out of some nylon fabric, like wind breakers or ski  pants.

  2. I put mine in the washer when it needs it. Wash it like you would a load of towels and then hang it dry.

  3. You can wash it. I can see where you would hesitate to use bleach, so try hot water and lysol.

    Good luck!

  4. ~~Over the years I have washed vinyl as well as cloth liners. They turn out great! I put them in the washer with two bath towels (for scrubbing action), add your soap and put in softener (deters mildew) and wash on hot water. When finished just hang back up tp dry. I leave the shower curtain rings on them and they come out all shiny and new too. I just wash on normal cycle and add white vinegar to the bleach compartment. It'll look brand new again!~~

  5. Yes you can - use a mild detergent and add what you use to clean your bathroom for mildew and stains just it pour it right in. Wash in hot water and it'll be squeaky clean - Oh also add white vinegar too.
