My mom says no but im not sure and the other answers online aren't specific as to whether the flowers were dyed while they were growing or after they were cut. Only answer if you know.

  1. Actually, you can, but not by watering it. For example, place a white carnation into a vase with dyed water. As the flower absorbs the water from the vase, it will absorb the dye and color the petals. Have fun!

  2. Yes you can, but it doesn't work in all white flowers. At school for ST. Patty's day we gave out green carnations. What you do is you cut a bit off the end of the stem of the plant, then add whatever color dye into the water and let it sit for a couple days. After a while it should work.

  3. Rachel is correct. You can do it but the dye solution needs to be stronger than just colored water. Carnations and daisies are very good at sucking up the dye but hard stemmed flowers like roses won't do it. Experiment and have fun!! : )

  4. No, you can't do that.  Your mom is right.
