I mean lets say that my vision in both eyes is -1.75 and +.75, will I be able to wear contacts that have two different prescriptions?

  1. If your prescription is -1.75+0.75 (with an axis), you are just nearsighted with astigmatism.  They do make contacts for this.

  2. They also make bifocal lenses which are easy to get used to. They cause less headaches than the so-called mono-vision technique.

  3. Yes, I have severe astigmatism and wear contacts called Toric lenses. Contacts are also available in bifocal...which is what I need but they are much more expensive so I just wear the toric. Each eye is treated individually with contact lenses, so if one is near sighted and one is far sighted it is not a problem.

  4. We call it monovision, you wear a lens to correct your distance vision in one eye, and a lens to correct you for near work in the other. Works fairly well

  5. Yes you can. I have two different prescriptions and I have astigmatism in one eye.
