  1. OMG!!! That is soo not fair!! My parents won't let me get contacts.

  2. Yes, just don't spray yourself in the eye.

As long as you wear goggles while swimming you can wear your contacts. I do it all the time. Just clean them with solution after you get out of the water.

  3. Yea I shower with mine all the time.

I even swim with my contacts in.

  4. It's not advisable because soft contacts will soak up all the chemicals and pathogens in the water and then hold them up against your eye.  The same thing happens when you're swimming.  As you can see, a lot of people wear them anyways, but it really increases your risk of infections and irritations.

  5. Yes you can

  6. Extremely good question!

I have done a lot of research into this question, and the answer from most places is a No!

I am a contact lens wearer myself and do kayaking in a dirty lake... I need to use contact lenses to see in there, which I understand increases my risk of acquiring a serious infection.

The fact is, it's not just the dirt that causes the infection, but its the acanthameba bateria often present, that can cause horrible pain and damage to your eye, very often necessitating a corneal transplant. And the water can change the way your lenses fit, making them too tight and causing severe eye health problems.

Enough of that to scare you, the fact is it's highly unlikely and even more unlikely with Daily Disposible lenses.  Are you using that type of lens?

    So in conclusion:

    1)  The offical medical answer is NO!

    2)  It can damage your eye very seriously, but this is extremely rare!

    3)  Would it be possible to have a evening shower instead and then take them straight out after?

    4)  If not, you could also use some goggles =P  Better safe than sorry, eh?

    5)  But if they are weekly or monthly I would definately reccomend being safer, as they already contain a higher risk of getting an infection.

I hope this helps!!  But, don't worry too much about them =)  The benefits are great, and the risks are low!

  7. Can but do close the eyes when showering

  8. They told me not to, and I always have. I just put a washcloth over my eyes when I lean back to rinse my hair out. It's just so you don't get water in your eyes and risk losing a contact.

  9. who told u that u cant wear them swimming? u can swim in them and take a shower in them!!!!!!!!!

  10. yes u can, i do it
