im 16 and my eyes are really bad. i dont know the numbers but i am really nearsighted. it seems like it keeps getting worse and worse. i want to wear contacts but the doctor said since my degree is so bad, the contact lenses wont be as sharp as wearing glasses. glasses lenses are really thick from the side even with the special thin kinds. so can i wear both at the same time so my glasses wont look as thick?

  1. im not sure, wouldnt that give you a headache?

    did you ask your doctor?

  2. Yes, we do it all the time. Usually, we correct what we can with contacts, then do what we all an over refraction (we get your prescription with your contacts on, the difference between your contacts and perfect vision) and put that prescription over your contacts. Although with the ranges of powers in contact lenses, we usually don't have to do that. Do you have any idea what your eyeglass prescription is?

  3. absolutely, but remember to have your doctor order the thinner lenses for your glasses.

  4. Now what would be the point of wearing contant lenses if you're going to be wearing lenses?

Here are some links of rimless glasses for that non eyeglass wearer look that will help you:

  5. yes.  Contacts can't always give you 20/20, so sometimes glasses are necessary.
