Well, I have kinda small eyes and I don't really see all that well without my glasses. I really want to try out for my school's freshman team, but I was just wondering if i should wear my contacts instead.

  1. yes

  2. Wear your contacts, glasses could get in the way and it's really dangerous.

  3. yeah you can wear glasses. but if you dont want to possibly break urs thn id wear ur contacs

  4. its fine to wear glasses, expecially if you want to make the team! its up to you if you want to wear glasses or contacts

  5. If wearing glasses - get a sports band, that goes around the back of head, so that your glasses will stay on all the time.

Also I think it's good to practice a defensive maneuver for when you feel that you are going to get a ball in your face - usually from a spike or serve?

That the best way to receive a high ball, is to use the two handed technique - of making a fist with your left hand, and your right hand covers that fist, such that the bottom of your hands, makes a flat platform - you put your fists in front of your face such that that flat platform faces towards the ball.  You can choose to either pass the ball by aiming high (like from a serve) or choose to send it across the net,  by aiming horizontal. You can use this for any high ball - with a fast ball, you let it bounce off you, with a slow high ball, you add some horizontal motion.

Anyway - you need to practice this, so that you can get ready very fast - to make this a natural defense for you - and to use it every so often so that it becomes part of your moves list, you resort to.  It is better than just ducking the ball.

You have to judge whether the ball coming to you is high - use this technique - or middle to low - where you just have your dig ready, and let it bounce off you...

  6. It is fine to wear your glasses.  If you are really worried because of your "ball magnet" face then it is probably better safe then sorry.  I say wear your contacts if you are really worried.  good luck.

  7. Yeah i wear my glasses when i play but if they break or keep getting hit them i'd switch to contacts if i were you

  8. yea.that should be fine

  9. Its whatever you prefer or want. You can wear them if you would like but if the ball hits your face alot then the contacts might be a better choice, but if it is hitting your face you need to either set it or you need to move your feet.

  10. I wouldn't wear mine if I were you.

If someone accidentally hits you in the face with the ball it would pretty much hurt.

    I would would wear contacts.
