Can you wear jeans and a shirt to Saudi Arabia?

im going to saudi for 1 or 2 hours i live in bahrain 30 min awayy..is it okay if i just weaar jeans and a shirt..or do i have to wear somthing else..?

2008.. if she's coming from Bahrain.. she will hit Khobar before Riyadh..

Khobar is lightening up lately.. and ive even seen western women wearing normal western clothing out in the malls.. No one bothers them. But this is in the huge malls.. you probably wont find a western women without an abaya in the smaller groceries or little street stores or arabic suks...

You can wear bluejeans and t-shirt.. many people do these days, but they wear an abaya over it.. .. they dont button the abaya.. they let it flap in the breeze (lol. they dont care and you can see all the clothing they wear under it.. ).. so it really doesnt matter..

if your bluejeans are not so tight as they look painted on, and the t-shirt isnt revieling.. you might get away with it.. but id suggest you having one just in case.. (or also, some girls wear jean jackets that sort of hit midthigh as a fashion statement to cover instead of abayas)

if you are going on through Khobar/Dammam up to Riyadh.. then you definately need on.. they are more concervative...

If you are a young lady (or older), just avoid some trouble and put on long-sleeves or put on a Abaya (Daffa) and under it jeans or something.

You might also consider a loose head cover or something.

There are places that would accept t-shirt and jeans, like Jeddah I think… but since you’re visiting from Bahrain.. I would suggest you’d be going to the nearby areas… so just slightly cover yourself up to avoid any comments or anything.

but have a abaya just in case. or you can just wear long loose clothes.

You have to wear an abaya ( a long black dress) to cover you up...whera are you going to stay for these 2 hours? Becouse if you do not go around you can manage to wear black trousers and a black-long sleeve- shirt...but the abaya is the best option!

i advise you to wear an abaya over your clothes and just leave it opened, but if you insist on not wearing one, try and wear a long shirt (past ur butt)..its just so that you can have a good time and not be bothered or feel uncomfortable, because there r perverted men who will stare..

well its just 1 or 2 hours, so I dont think its really a problem... you are heading somewhere else isnt it ? just wear a scarf that would be good..and ofcourse not revealing dress..

You are required to wear an Abaya in Saudi Arabia, no matter if you are a Saudi woman or a foreign woman.  It is the law.  I imagine you would be harassed by the Muttaween and possibly thrown in jail if you didn't comply with the laws of Saudi Arabia.

again sweetie .. u dont have 2 wear a 3abbaya but if ur comin from ba7rain im assuming ur staying in reyad right? yup its okay 2 wear a jeans and a shirt ... especially if ur still young . :)
