  1. i would say yes because if you are reading then wouldnt you need your reading glasses

  2. i tried it once, but it gave me terrible headaches,

but that may just be my eyes.

  3. Yes you can....what is your normal reading power then cut it in half, then try on the computer. This should be better then the orignal strengh.

  4. you sure can

  5. I have to wear glasses when I'm using the computer but for a different reason. I can't see what's on the screen clearly.

  6. Personally I tell my patients to get intermediate glasses the best way to do this is to see how far you sit from your computer measure the distance.

Then go in to the optician and  have him or her set the P.D. for intermediate distance . This is the most effect when doing computer glasses and you will see the best this way.

Other option have Dr set you with a no line bifocal.

  7. Yes and no...

If you are young and just wear ready-made reading glasses for computer work, the results are likely to be disappointing or even counterproductive.

Under 40, with distance/astigmatic correction if required, people should have sufficient accommodation to work at a normal computer working distance, and +ve reading glasses would be just as likely to disturb the eyes' normal accommodation/convergence balance.

If you are genuinely presbyopic, the appropriate reading glasses will help considerably, and while in the earlier stages computer and reading glasses will be effectively of the same strength, because the computer screen is at a longer distance, eventually glasses tend to be required with a weaker power than the full reading strength, to suit that longer focus distance.
