  1. At the water park i lifeguard at we don't allow people to swim in street clothes because it contaminates the water and the fibers from the clothing can destroy the filter system over time

  2. Jean shorts, basically cut offs as they used to be called, are banned at just about every pool I know of. Only proper swimwear is allowed in most places. The fabric clogs the filters, mostly cotton.

  3. NOOOOO

not comfortable and ur jeans might mess up. it's not normal to swim with jeans on. that's just wierd.

    if anything, wear short sweats..

  4. I guess you could if you wanted to.  they might not dry as fast as a bathing suit

  5. You need to check with the rules at your pool. You would not be allowed to wear jean shorts at pools local to me, for these two reasons:

    (1) No street clothes - introduces too much dirt, oil, etc. into the pool water.

    (2) No cotton - fibers can clog the filtration system

  6. If you are comfortable swimming in them then why not?

Just make sure you have something else to put on if it isn't comfortable.

You will probably find that they take ages to dry though, wheras most swim gear is fast drying.  You might find that the colour fades from them aswell due to the chlorine content in the water.

Some places won't allow you to wear anything but proper swim gear in their pools, often because of it weighing you down, but also because they don't want the colouring to leak into their pool.

Either way, you can always try.

  7. I would advise you not to wear them because they will be too uncomfortable for you when they get wet.

  8. na still too heavy when wet
