Can you work while you're studying?

I am moving from UK to USA. I got full scholarship which pays for my living expenses. I have a baby, so the nursery would cost me $800 extra. Is it possible to find work only on weekends 16 hours per week, and get paid $13/hour, so that it works out $800 per month?

  1. Depends where the school is. If it's in a major city like NY or Boston, no problem. You could just babysit, bringing your child for more than $13/hr. If you're not in a major area count on an $8 hour job. The economy is bad in many places now making jobs hard to get.

  2. It is possible, but the work would be pretty difficult to find.

  3. 16 times 4 times 13 = 832 and taxes will take out more than $32, so you'll need a few more hours.
