Can you work while you're studying?

I am moving from UK to USA. I got full scholarship which pays for my living expenses. I have a baby, so the nursery would cost me $800 extra. Is it possible to find work only on weekends 16 hours per week, and get paid $13/hour, so that it works out $800 per month?

Depends where the school is. If it's in a major city like NY or Boston, no problem. You could just babysit, bringing your child for more than $13/hr. If you're not in a major area count on an $8 hour job. The economy is bad in many places now making jobs hard to get.

It is possible, but the work would be pretty difficult to find.

16 times 4 times 13 = 832 and taxes will take out more than $32, so you'll need a few more hours.
