Can your belly button piercing get infected by cleaning it with peroxide or rubbing alcohol too much?

  1. if there is drainage, remove the piercing and clean with warm soapy water.  see your doctor for treatment.


  2. You must keep it clean, of course, but you must also leave it alone so it can heal or it will always be sore.  If you find your clothing is rubbing against it, put a bandage over it for a few days until it stops hurting.  If it is red, tender, hot, and swollen, it is infected.

  3. yes you arent supposed to clean it at all with peroxide or rubbing alcohol, piercers specifically tell you NOT to do this. Clean it with simple DIAL soap. Let the soap sit there for 1 minute, rinse thouroughly, let air dry. Then spray with Bactine. Do this 2-3 times a day.

  4. not infected since those two things kill infections, but possibly irritated if over done.  but, also possibly not.  but definitely not infected.
