Hello, after a very strong storm, but battery died. It was an old battery and needed to be replaced afterwards anyway. I got in a heated debate with my friends to whether or not the storm caused it to lose charge in the first place. Pretty much, my car started fine for the past 4 years, then after the storm, i had to jump it everytime i turned it off. FYI, the area did flood, but i drive a high truck, and no vital parts were ever submerged by water.

  1. The storm would have nothing to do with the battery being dead.

  2. Most likely the excessive moisture got into your electrical system even if it wasn't submerged.  In a strong storm the wind could have blown water into your engine comparment.  Did you put in a new battery? and does it start all the time now? Did the old battery turn the engine over?  If it got warm / dry weather afterwards and the moisture evaporated the old battery may have still worked but it's always good to have a new battery anyhow.
