Can your car be towed if you are sitting in it?

Question

as in, if you see your car either about to be towed or if they are in the process of towing your car and you can manage to get in the car and sit down, can they tow it?

i'm specifically looking for answers that either link to a website with a concrete answer, or someone who worked or works for a towing company or if someone has actually tried this.

i'm asking because i read it in a book (fiction) once and i was wondering if it was true.

Yeah, I guess you have a point because the driver of the tow truck won't be towing your car, instead he'll be kicking your @ss.  If you survive the @ss kicking he might then decide to retrieve his lead pipe or gun.

As a former tow truck driver. They can not move the car, But. They can call the police and have you arrested.  Adding a lot more grief, to your dilemma.

i don,t think your allowed to sit in the car that,s being towed.
