Can your doctor tell if you had s*x or not?

I know you gotta see if the hymen is intact, but wont it be broken if you use tampons?

I don't think tampons can do it but things like horseriding and doing a lot of sport can break it... so a doctor can't tell if you lie hahahaaa

Yep, as everyone else has said, the hymen breaks in so many ways - from sports, to tampon use - that it is no longer an indicator of virginity. Unfortunately there are way too many cultures that still believe in this myth forcing women to undergo a hymen restorative surgery or face rejection from their husband and bring shame upon their family.

Really, the only way the doctor can tell is if you have a sexually transmitted disease down there, with no explanation.. nasty stuff!

So you don't have to tell your doctor if you have had s*x, and I can understand that you might not want to if a parent is present or something like that. However if you are going there for a checkup, it's usually best to tell them these things because it helps them, for example, narrow down any illnesses you might have and take certain tests that you should be having if you're sexually active (eg. a pap smear) They deal with people everyday who tell them all sorts of intimate details so it's nothing new to them - plus there is doctor/patient confidentiality so you can rest assured your doctor isn't going to go telling tom d**k or harry. =]

The hymen can break in so many different ways. Mine was gone long before I'd ever even kissed anyone.

The doctor can tell if your hymen is there, but there is no test to determine if you've ever had s*x. Period.

the hymen has nothing to do with s*x or virginity the only way to know if you've had s*x or not is to say if you have

a dr can tell if you've had s*x within a few days. every time you have s*x you get tiny tears in your v****a (i think its the top part). they check that with rape victims as well. whenever someone is raped or has really rough s*x the v****a tears (at the bottom i believe, i could have them mixed up though) so it really doesn't matter if you have a hymen or not cause they can tell. but the dr would really have to look to find that so you prbly don't need to worry about a dr telling your parents or anything. and no your hymen shouldn't break from using tampons

No tampons will not break your hymen. The hymen can be broken in many different situations, you do not have to have s*x in order for it to break and using a tampon will not break it.  Goodluck to you.

They can tell if the hymen is intact or not but it can break in ways other than s*x. It doesn't always break from tampon use. The opening is still usually big enough, even with hymen intact, to fit a tampon.

They can't usually tell if you've had s*x or not unless you've just done it and they find s***n or it was rough and there's evidence of trauma. Which they wouldn't be looking for unless they were doing an examination after alleged rape.

i agree whit the person who answered that the hymen can rupture in various ways, the only way the doctor  could tell if you had s*x or not was if there was s***n still present. other than that i don't see how the doctor would know short of  being informed
