Ive been working at a company for 3 months & I just told my employer that I will need to take off 2 1/2 days (tues & thurs) to go to school still making myself available after school to come in to work. They seemed kind of weird about it. Can they get rid of me just for going back to school?

  1. If you aren't working when you're supposed to be there they can cause problems for you.  If you have set hours.  Maybe you should talk with your boss again and ask if they can rearrange your hours.  But if your job is only open from x time to x time and you can't be there then they might not like it too much.

  2. i think that they kinda can, cause ur not making urself available when they need u, so they could look at it as it's not worth having u there. i had a job interview  at a store and they asked if i was in school i told them i was in college and they said they couldnt offer me a job if i was in school cause of the hours their employees work. so i didnt get it cause of school. good luck

  3. No they can not. What you can do is go to a judge and demand them going to school and working for that company it is not a problem to firing you so go to a judge and demand. oh and when you go you need a copy of the contract you sign to work in that company.

i know this cuz my friend past thru this too and i help her.

  4. Not for going back to school on your own time, but if you have to rearrange a pre-set schedule they can.  They hired you to be there when "they" need you, not just based on your schedule.
