Question:

Can your eye colour change?

I know that all babies start off with blue eyes and later change. But my Optician informed me that my eye colour has changed, from dark bluey grey (when I was 9 and last went to Opticians) to pastel greeny grey (2 years ago)!

I looked in the mirror and realised it was true. The greeny grey pastel colour is still there, and has apparently been that colour for years. I like this colour better however. I can't believe I didn't realise though! How, why, what?!

  1. If I were you I wouldn't worry about eye colour change unless its happening too much (My eyes have changed 8 times over two weeks) It happens to many people. My eyes used to change colour once every two years but its got really bad recently. And you might not have realised because not many people look into their eyes everyday (I do since my eyes change colour tons) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  2. dont know but people tell me my eyes change dependin on the mood im in

  3. Yup it can happen! Mine did the same thing. I kind of like it because my eyes are lighter green now.

  4. Perhaps your eyes are "hazel" like my son's.  When he was born, they were blue (we're Black by the way), but would change color according to what he wore and what the weather was like. When he was about 4, they changed to a gray color with a dark circle around the gray. Now, their color depends on the weather, what he's wearing, and what mood he's in.  Sometimes gray, sometimes green, sometimes light brown, sometimes a mixture.

  5. I am positive my eyes were very light brown (not hazel, BROWN) when I was about 4-12 years old.  The brown was a solid, light coffee color from the circumference of the iris to the pupil, and very constant (no flecks).

Somehow, based on my observations in looking in the mirror from about 12-14 years old, I felt my eyes were changing.  Now, I have eyes that have a deep olive green thick circle around the circumference of my iris, a fiery ring of gold around the pupil, and blue and gold specks in between.  So I'm positive they've changed.  But I never talked to a doctor about this.

Also I went from a golden tan color to very pale greenish skin tone too.  I'm pretty sure my pigment's changed.  I used to be in the sun a lot, now I stay inside so maybe that has something to do with it.

  6. i know a lot of people who have lighter colored eyes, that tend to change color with the day...
