  1. They can make you. In less you have a good reason not to, you can take it to court.

  2. I don't really know canadian laws. but since you said that you can run away. i am thinking that your parents can't.

  3. Yes they have control unless you have someone else thats over 18 is willing to take custody of you, Your parents cant stop you from doing that.

  4. you should run away and join a gang that rides in an abandoned train car that goes around the country killing people in secret. that would be so cool man. and do herione and crack. that would be awesome. b

  5. until you reach 18 your parents are in control and can force you back.  the only exception is if you become an emancipated minor.  this is a special condition where the courts declare you to be on your own, it is reserved for mature minors able to take care of themselves, with parents who are not able to adequately raise them.  16 is d**n young to be on your own, you better think really hard about this.

  6. You can't live on your own until you are 18

sorry thats the law but if you are having issues maybe you can stay with a diffrent family member or friend

  7. You are not a legal adult until 18. If your parents call the police and there are issues in the home or with you (drugs, illegal activity, etc.) you may be placed in foster care until you're 18. Some juvenile homes run until 21 for kids with records.

  8. yes your parents can make you come back when ypur 16  years old.they can make you come back because you are still in school and you are still a child that is in need for their care.Once your 18 you are an adult.

  9. I think you can probably get emancipated.   The thing is, you might be in danger on your own like this.  There are a lot of perverts out there just looking for youngsters like you to hurt.   Please talk to a trusted adult and make sure  you are in a safe situation while you figure this out.

You can call hotline numbers for advice.   They are located in the front pages of your phone book.   They help teenagers and won't force you to go home where things are bad.   Good luck.

  10. you aren't a legal adult until you're 18. so technically, if they got the police involved, yes.

  11. i think in the US, until you're 18 they can make you come back. Also, i think its possible to 'flee' (if you will) to Canada and you might be under their law - not the US's

  12. Depends on the parents.. but yes they can force you back until you are 18 they can't

But you can always run away no matter what =)

  13. Sadly they can. My gf tried to hide out here for a while but her mum called the cops and because of a traitor friend got her taken back

but try as hard as you can

  14. It is perfectly legal for you to move out at the age of 16, without parental confirmation!

But i dont thnk you can just be living on the streets.

  15. Let me be really clear--there is no one out there who gives a hoot about you aside from family--maybe your folks are bad and I don't know but I do know that there has got to be some kin somewhere who care and you need to talk to them. Strangers are not the answer.

  16. No, it isn't a missing persons report, it is reporting a runaway.  Definition of runaway is aminor, who has illegally left the parent's house without the consent of the parent.

The word illegal should tell you something.

  17. No they cannot force you to go back home, well british law states you can leave home legally at 16.

If there are problems at then you can get help and support with it, you do not really have to leave home

  18. Technically 16 is not adult. You can drive and get a job but you can runaway providing you explain the situation in a calm order

  19. yes. since you are a minor your parents still have full legal custody over you.  if you were planning on running away to canada they can still make you come back because you are not a canadian citizen.

I'm sorry about whatever it is that is going on at home and i hope it gets worked out soon.

  20. 18 is the magic freedom age...

    Until then...

You are under the legal guardianship of somebody...

  21. your parents are basicaly in control til your 18.....i know i dont kno the whole situation but u should pray about it and try to find a better answer someway.

  22. Yes, I believe you would still be considered missing at the age of 16, since legal adult age isn't until 18, unless something changed.

  23. ok i wont say that you should stay home till your 18 ill just say you should stay longer..

it seems like your not even ready to be out in the real world by yourself since your asking about returning home...

if u ran away once youll do it again..whats the F***** point in coming back..shoot i know if i was your mom i would just shut the door flat on your face no matter how much i love you..you should never run away from your parents cuz if they love you they wouldnt run away from YOU.

and if you ran away to be with some guy..ha u better not even return

    good luck

  24. Legally wise: probably yes, depending on your country and state.  Some states in the US consider you and adult at 16, and others at 18 etc...  so each state/country's standard age for defining an adult is different.

If 16 is the legal age in Canada, then you could...not saying that you should.

common sense wise:  probably no...  you know why, and if you don't, that's more the reason why you shouldn't.

  25. WELL THEY KINDA CAN AND IF IT IS SOME TYPE OF PARENTS ABUSING OR KILLING OR PSYCHO'S THEN INFORM THE POLICE FOR A DIVORCE FROM YOUR PARENTS AN EMANCIPATED  MINOR USE THE LAW CHECK OUT EMANCIPATED MINOR FOR RESEARCH AND HELP I DON'T KNOW YOUR SITUATION RIGHT BUT I BELIEVE I CAN STILL HELP YOU FROM WHAT I KNOW THAT IS WHY I WILL NOT STATE ANYTHING RUDE BUT OTHER THAN THAT GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR LIFE AND ASK ANY OTHER QUESTIONS MANY ARE WILLING TO HELP

  26. If you can run away from home at that age then you can.

  27. Technically your parents are the legal guardians till you are 18. If there are things going on at home and you feel you need to be away, go get the help from a friend or report it to someone. Do not put yourself in danger.

  28. You can run away, but police involvement will bring you back home.  Good luck with your situation.  Maybe talk to a counselor before you decide to make this trek.

  29. If there is a reason why you don't want to be at home at the age of 16, then it has to be serious enough to stay away. If yo are a run away you need to contact your parents or the law. If you are being mistreated, they can help you.

  30. yes they can make you return home until you turn 18, then you can be on your own

  31. I think you can get independent from them.File legal papers and stuff. They cant "make" you do anything. The police always say that they wont even look for kids who run away because they usually come back. Just make sure you are safe. If you feel like you cannot live there anymore and you have somewhere to go you should be fine. Call a law office for some advice.
